Ominous, and more ominous, eyes

These big, ominous eyes have been staring at Boston recently, during the annual Winteractive festival. Relevant to the way many of us feel.

But across the ocean, in Switzerland, another pair of eyes upped the surveillance vibe by watching, and tracking, passers-by.

Artist Cyril Gfeller installed eyes in the big front window of Artspace Jaruplatz, in Biel/Bienne, the watch capital of the world. 

He used LIDAR technology, a laser scanner that detects movement and position, to control the eyes.

The way they follow you… very twenty first century.
